Virat Kohli shared a delightful moment with a young fan in Vadodara who bears an uncanny resemblance to his childhood self, ahead of India's ODI series against New Zealand starting January 11, 2026.

Kohli has been in excellent form for India as he is set to feature for India in the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. The star India batter is expected to play all three matches in the 50-over format.

The Indian team arrived in Vadodara for the first time hosting a men's ODI in years. During a training session or public appearance, Kohli-typically reserved with crowds-was approached by excited young fans seeking autographs. Despite his usual preference for privacy, he paused with a bright smile, greeting the kids warmly and signing memorabilia.​

Spotlight on the 'Mini Kohli'

One boy instantly stole the show, dubbed "Mini Kohli" or "mini-me" for his striking similarity-same hairstyle, facial features, and expressions matching Kohli's Delhi childhood photos. Viral images capture Kohli beaming widely, clearly amused by the doppelganger. Fans flooded social media with side-by-side comparisons, joking "Yeh Akaay Kohli nahi hai?" (Isn't this Akaay Kohli?), referencing Kohli's son, and "19-20 ka fark bhi nahi!" (No difference with Kohli).

Arshdeep Singh later made a reel with the kids as well, which indeed featured the young kid resembling Kohli!

India have their final ODI assignment against the Kiwis before they get into the T20 mode. After the three-match ODI series, Suryakumar Yadav-led India will clash with them in a five-match T20I series, before heading into the T20 World Cup, which starts from February 7.
