IND vs NZ: Dhanashree Verma, the wife of star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, started trending on X after Shreyas Iyer's magnificent hundred against New Zealand in the first semi-final of the World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Dhanashree was among the several celebrities present at the iconic venue for the marquee clash. The cameraman first put the focus on the dancer and choreographer when Shreyas Iyer completed his second consecutive hundred of the World Cup 2023.

Shreyas Iyer broke Rohit Sharma's record for the fastest World Cup hundred from India in the previous match against Netherlands. He brought up the ton in just 62 balls. On Wednesday, November 15, the 28-year-old took 67 balls for the hundred. It's the third fastest World Cup hundred by an Indian.

The cameraperson panned his camera once again towards Dhanashree Verma after the fall of Shreyas Iyer's wicket in the 49th over of the match. As Iyer walked back to the pavilion after his 70-ball 105, Dhanashree stood to applaud the innings of the Mumbai batter like thousands others at the Wankhede Stadium.

Notably, fans have humorously associated Shreyas Iyer and Dhanashree Verma in the past. The pictures of two attending common events have also gone viral in the past. Amid all the rumours, there were also reports of discord between Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal.

On the back of the hundreds from Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, India posted a mammoth 398-run target for New Zealand. Notably, New Zealand had defeated India in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup.
