Ahead of the colossal Champions Trophy 2025 Final on Sunday (March 9), the India camp has been hit with an injury scare.
Virat Kohli, the premier batter, reportedly took a hit during one of the training sessions on Friday, just around 48 hours ahead of the championship clash.

During a practice session at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy in Dubai, Virat Kohli was struck near his knee by a fast delivery, leading him to halt training. The Indian physiotherapy team promptly attended to him, applying a spray and bandaging the affected area. Despite the discomfort, Kohli remained on the field, observing the remainder of the practice session and reassuring teammates and staff about his condition.
Kohli has been in outstanding form throughout the tournament, notably scoring an unbeaten century against Pakistan and a match-winning 84 in the semi-final against Australia. His presence is considered crucial for India's bid to secure their third Champions Trophy title.
But Kohli's potential injury in training caused panic amongst the fans as the importance of the Indian batter is paramount.
Despite the injury scare, Virat Kohli is certain to play the Champions Trophy final. It was only an impact issue and didn't make any damages to his bone or muscles.
The coaching staff later confirmed that the injury is not serious, and Kohli is expected to be fit for the Champions Trophy 2025 final, which is a massive boost for Rohit Sharma and company.
Although Kohli is likely to play, New Zealand pacer Matt Henry looks set to miss out on the final after suffering a shoulder injury. The pacer missing out can be a major blow for the Kiwis, who have had a historical upperhand against India in ICC tournaments.
These two teams met in the Champions Trophy 2000 final and the Kiwis won that match courtesy of a magnificent century from Chris Cairns.
