India star Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury in the ICC World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh on Friday. And after Hardik's injury, there are reports that another Indian star is also under medical scrutiny before the match.

Reports say Ravindra Jadeja, India's star left-arm-spinning all-rounder, has also been injured and carrying an niggle. It is understood that the all-rounder is carrying his knee issue for a long time.

Jadeja suffered a knee injury, which made him miss the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022. He underwent surgery, and it seems that his old injury is troubling him again in this tournament. But will it be enough for Jadeja to miss out the New Zealand game in Dharamshala? A BCCI official has given complete clarity on the issue.

"Jadeja is fine. When you have surgery, you need long-term care. Knee injuries are such that they tend to hurt back. That is why he was applying an ice pack. There is no immediate concern regarding his niggle. The medical team and the physios are keeping a tab on all the players including Jadeja," the unnamed official was quoted as saying by InsideSport.

It doesn't look like the star all-rounder will be missing out on a match due to his current niggle. The BCCI official has said that the player is under the supervision of the medical personnel, and it is to be seen how his injury or the issue pans out along the course of the tournament. But for now, Jadeja is free to play against New Zealand, and we can hope to see him in Dharamsala on Sunday.

Jadeja has been an important part of the Indian jigsaw in this tournament. He has been the go-to bowler of Rohit Sharma and has produced goods for the Indian team every time he has been called for.

It can be said that Jadeja may be rested once India seals the semi-final spot. But before that, there is little chance of rotation in the Indian team.
