Indian cricket team were made uncomfortable for the first time during the ICC World Cup 2023 when their prime strength, their spinners, were taken for runs in the middle overs by Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Sunday (October 22).
Daryl Mitchell (130) and Ravindra (75) crucially added 159 runs for the third wicket after New Zealand lost both their openers inside the first powerplay. Mitchell and Ravindra struggled early on to deal with the pressure created by Indian pacers but once spinners were introduced, they settled down at the crease.

In fact, Kuldeep Yadav was specifically targetted from one end as he was shot for multiple sixes in his first spell, taking a toll on his confidence as the Chinaman struggled to bowl in the right areas for the remainder of his spell.
Kuldeep, who gave away 73 runs in his 10 overs, took two wickets in the latter stages to add some semblance of respect to his total. We take a look at the stats of Daryl Mitchell on how he troubled the Indian spinners.
