Team India will cross swords with New Zealand on October 22, Sunday in the 21st match of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 at HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala. Notably, they are the only two teams that are unbeaten in the competition.
The pitch in Dharamshala has historically favoured fast bowlers and hence the team that wins the toss will opt to bowl first. Both teams have a well-balanced squad that can go toe-to-toe with each other and we can expect nothing but great contest.

With Dharmshala's pitch conducive to fast bowlers, the team that bats well is expected to be on the front foot. India's top-order batsmen namely Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli will be looking forward to delivering the goods.
Rohit Sharma has played 27 ODIs against New Zealand wherein he scored 889 runs at an average of 37.04 including 2 centuries and 5 half-centuries. He has often had issues in dealing with left-arm pacers in his career.
Trent Boult will be licking his lips to bowl to Rohit Sharma. The left-arm seamer has dismissed him eight times in international cricket (4 times in ODIs and 4 times in T20Is). Boult varies his line and length by mixing up deliveries to ruffle Rohit Sharma's feathers, leading to mistimed shots or dismissals.
India's talented prospect Shubman Gill is the leading run-scorer in ODIs in the ongoing
calendar year with 1299 runs to his name. Notably, he has a phenomenal batting average against the Black Caps in the 50-over format.

He piled up as many as 484 runs at an impeccable batting average of 80.66 including two centuries and a fifty. The right-handed batsman scored a double-century against New Zealand earlier this year.
India's run-machine has played 29 ODIs against New Zealand wherein he scored 1433 runs at an average of 55.11. It is worth mentioning here that he hammered five centuries and eight half-centuries against the Black Caps in the 50-over format.

Virat Kohli is one of the batters to watch out for in the upcoming clash against New Zealand. The right-handed batter scored a match-winning century against Bangladesh in the last game in Pune and is expected to continue his good form.
