IND vs PAK: Babar Azam remains Top in Elite List as Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli dismissed early

India and Pakistan are tussling against each other in a T20 World Cup 2024 match on Sunday (June 9).

India was sent into bat first by Pakistan and the Men in Blue are in deep trouble in the early stages. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been dismissed early in the India innings.

Virat Kohli has failed to replicate his IPL 2024 form in the T20 World Cup. The India batter was dismissed for just a solitary run against Ireland, and he has departed for just 4 runs against Pakistan. After hitting a boundary, Kohli slashed another ball but found Usman Khan at point.

India captain Rohit Sharma, who scored an unbeaten fifty in the last match, also departed soon. He scored just 13 runs before being held on in the deep in the bowling of Shaheen Afridi.

Most Runs in T20Is: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Fail as Babar Azam remains Top

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also failed to go past Pakistan captain Babar Azam in the run-scorer list in the T20I format. The trio started the tournament very close to each other and Virat Kohli had the most runs in T20Is.

Babar Azam overtook Kohli after scoring 44 against USA and he will remain so till the end of the India vs Pakistan match.

After scoring 13 runs, Rohit Sharma now has 4039 T20I runs and remains 3rd in the list. Virat Kohli is just ahead of him and sitting in the 2nd position with 4042 runs. Pakistan captain Babar Azam remains at the top with 4067 runs and will have the opportunity to extend his lead at the top when Pakistan bat in the match.
