Canadian rapper and singer Drake has placed a humongous bet ahead of the India and Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup 2024. The high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan is set for Sunday (June 9) at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

India has a strong T20 World Cup history against Pakistan, winning seven out of their eight previous encounters. The sole victory for Pakistan came in the 2021 edition. Given this record, many consider India the favourites for this match.

Renowned Canadian rapper Drake has bet Rs 5.4 crore on Team India for this match. His decision to back Rohit Sharma's team reflects their dominant history against Pakistan. The betting platform Stake confirmed Drake's participation on social media.

The USD 650,000 amount converts to around Rs 5.42 crore in Indian currency. If Drake wins the bet, he will win USD 910,000 which is Rs 7.6 crore in Indian currency.

Similarly, in Pakistan rupees, the bet amount is around Rs 18.19 crore PKR and the winning will be around Rs 25.47 crore PKR.

Drake has had a record of betting and he has taken up cricket to be the new genre for his bets. The Canadian star recently made a Rs 2.5 crore bet on Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL 2024 Final against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After KKR's victory, the singer got a thick payout of Rs 4.5 crore from the deal.

India and Pakistan had contrasting starts in the T20 World Cup 2024. India secured an eight-wicket win over Ireland, chasing a target of 97 runs. In contrast, Pakistan faced a surprising defeat to the USA in a Super Over. As the two teams meet on Sunday, it is to be seen if Drake can end up having yet another lumpsome profit.
