IND-W vs PAK-W: RCB Player's Horrific Fielding Leaves Fans and Players Stunned, Indian Fans Show No Mercy on Twitter

IND-W vs PAK-W: India's fielding woes reached a new low in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 as Asha Sobhana, a key player for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), dropped two crucial catches during the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash.

With these errors, India's total number of dropped catches in the tournament has now alarmingly risen to 18, sparking outrage among fans and putting additional pressure on the team.

Asha Shobana poor fieldiing against Pakistan

The first mishap came during Arundhati Reddy's 6th over, at 6.2, when Muneeba Ali scooped a relatively simple catch straight to Asha at short fine leg. What seemed like a routine take was fumbled, and the ball slipped through her hands after she nearly grabbed it.

To add insult to injury, Pakistani batter Aliya Riaz reacted with a mix of surprise and amusement, making exaggerated facial expressions that quickly became a talking point. Asha's error handed Pakistan a crucial reprieve at a time when wickets were needed.

The nightmare continued for Asha in the 12th over. At 12.3, another catch, this time from Fatima Sana, went straight to her at gully. Once again, she couldn't hold on to the thick outside edge, marking her second blunder in the match. These mistakes not only rattled India's fielding unit but also allowed Pakistan to scrape together a modest total of 105/8 in 20 overs.

India's bowling effort was otherwise commendable, with Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh, and Shafali Verma taking key wickets and maintaining tight lines throughout the innings. At one point, Pakistan struggled to even cross the 100-run mark, with only a few lower-order contributions helping them push past the milestone.

However, Asha's dropped catches overshadowed the bowling performance and left fans fuming. On Twitter, Indian supporters did not hold back. An Indian fan harshly tweeted, "Asha Sobhana did it again, she should be thrown out of the Indian team with immediate effect. If you can't take such dollies, then you simply don't deserve to represent the nation of 1.5 billion."

Another fan noted, "Everyone knows she and Renuka are not good fielders. If you want good fielders, play Radha and Pooja in place of them."

Despite the fielding errors, India managed to restrict Pakistan to a low total, giving themselves a strong chance to chase it down quickly. However, the repeated fielding lapses, particularly Asha's, have left fans questioning the team's overall sharpness in crucial moments.
