IND vs PAK: Pakistan rewrote the record books during their Group A showdown against India in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday. In a tactical masterstroke, skipper Salman Ali Agha deployed as many as six spinners in a single T20 World Cup match - the first time such a strategy has been executed in the tournament's history.
Agha set the tone himself by taking the new ball and striking early. He removed Abhishek Sharma for a duck in the opening over, immediately putting India on the back foot. Spin continued to dominate proceedings as Saim Ayub was introduced early and made a decisive impact.

The left-handed batter-turned-off-spinner bowled his full quota of four overs, finishing with impressive figures of 3/25.
Ayub's spell proved crucial in breaking India's momentum. He first dismissed the well-set Ishan Kishan, who had raced to 78 off just 40 deliveries, and then struck twice in successive deliveries to remove Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya. His all-round effort also included sharp fielding, notably taking the catch to dismiss Axar Patel off Shaheen Shah Afridi and another to send back Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav off Usman Tariq.
Apart from Agha and Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq collectively ensured India never fully broke free. Shaheen Afridi was the lone frontline pacer in the XI and bowled only two overs, claiming one wicket at the death.
Despite losing three batters for ducks - Abhishek Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel - India managed to post a competitive 175/7 in 20 overs. Much of the credit goes to Ishan Kishan, whose fluent knock featured 10 boundaries and three sixes, anchoring the innings amid relentless spin pressure.
Pakistan's spin-heavy blueprint not only created a tournament first but also showcased their tactical boldness on a surface offering grip and turn.
