IND vs PAK, T20 World Cup 2024: Four batters to watch out for as India take on Pakistan in New York

IND vs PAK: Team India will lock horns with Pakistan in the Match 19 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The highly-intriguing fixture will get underway on June 9, Sunday (8:00 PM IST) at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

The Men in Blue led by Rohit Sharma kick-started their T20 World Cup venture with an 8-wicket win over Ireland. On the other hand, Pakistan failed to make a mark in their opening campaign after losing to the USA in the Super Over.

Team India and Pakistan have faced each other on seven occasions in T20 World Cups. India have the upper hand as they won five games whereas Pakistan won just once and the remaining game ended in a tie. Let's now take a look at the four batters who are expected to have a cracking game.

1. Virat Kohli: Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has always been a nightmare to Pakistani bowlers. He knows a thing or two about negating their bowling attack before going about his business. Kohli is India's leading run-getter against Pakistan in T20 World Cups. The veteran accumulated 308 runs against Pakistan in five innings including 4 fifties to his name.

2. Babar Azam: Babar Azam who is considered as one of the premier batsmen in T20 cricket etched his name into the record books by going past Virat Kohli to become the leading T20I run scorer. The senior pro who scored 4067 runs in his illustrious T20 career will be looking forward to posing a serious threat to India's bowling attack.

3. Rishabh Pant: Rishabh Pant made a terrific comeback to international cricket with an unbeaten 36 against Ireland in New York recently. He was able to adjust well at the No.3 spot, performing well against Ireland and in the warm-up game against Bangladesh. Pant is expected to go all guns blazing against Pakistan in the high-voltage clash against Pakistan.

4. Mohammad Rizwan: Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has relished batting against Team India. The right-handed batter who operates as an opener for the Green Shirts scored 197 runs in the four T20Is he played against the Men in Blue. Rizwan will be at his top gear against India in the crucial game.
