IND vs PAK World Cup 2023: Biggest Flops and Hits of India vs Pakistan WC 2023 Match 12

By Chaithanya Gulapala

The highly-anticipated fixture between India and Pakistan witnessed a purely one-sided contest at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The sporting carnival saw India's clinical performance across all three aspects of the game. On the contrary, Pakistan failed to fire on all cylinders and ended up losing the plot.

India secured an easy victory over the arch-rivals as they won their 8th consecutive match against Pakistan in the World Cup. With the victory, the Men in Blue are on top of the World Cup 2023 table.

Let's now take a glimpse at the hits and flops of the India vs Pakistan World Cup 2023 clash.

India vs Pakistan World Cup 2023 Hits

Kuldeep Yadav

India's chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers as he accounted for 2 dismissals, giving away 35 runs in his spell. Notably, he was the only bowler who completed his full quota of 10 overs in which he got rid of Saud Shakeel (6) and Iftikhar Ahmed (4) for cheap scores. He dismissed both batters in the same over, which changed the entire complexion of the game.

Rohit Sharma

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma often found it tough to bat against Pakistan's new ball bowlers in recent meetings. However, that wasn't the case today as he rose to the occasion and gave the Pakistani bowlers a run for their money. He scored an impressive 86 off 63 balls including 6 fours and as many sixes at a strike rate of 136.51. Rohit missed out on scoring a well-deserved century as he fell prey to Shaheen Afridi's ball in the 22nd over.

India vs Pakistan World Cup 2023 Flops

Shaheen Shah Afridi

Pakistan's pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi failed to bring the best out of himself in the epic World Cup clash against Team India. Ahead of the riveting contest, when the Indian media asked him for a selfie, the paceman promised to take a selfie, only after taking a fifer against India. However, as it turned out, he lacked the killer instinct to channelize his aggression against the run of play. Apart from dismissing Shubman Gill (16) and Rohit Sharma (86), he didn't do much to unsettle India.

Abdullah Shafique

Pakistan's opening batsman Abdullah Shafique who scored a surreal century against Sri Lanka in the previous game was nowhere close to posing a threat to India. The right-hander got off to a good start, hammering three fours in the powerplay but he couldn't capitalize on his innings before playing right into the hands of Mohammed Siraj in the last ball of the 8th over.

Siraj bowled a good length ball which angled in towards Abdullah and to which, the right hander misjudged the line and paid the ultimate price. He departed after making 20 off 24 balls.
