Yuvraj Singh, who is one of the brand ambassadors for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, has expressed excitement over the prospect of Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Amir going against each other in the India vs Pakistan match in New York on Sunday, June 9.
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will host the big-ticket India vs Pakistan contest of the T20 World Cup 2024. The pitch here has been under a lot of scrutiny because of the uneven bounce which has made run-scoring extremely difficult at the venue. Fast bowlers have ruled the roost on the tricky New York pitch.

Yuvraj Singh has his eyes set on the mouth-watering clash between the Asia giants, and the former southpaw has also hand-picked two matchups he was eagerly waiting for. The two-time world champion was raring to see Rohit Sharma go against Mohammad Amir, and the Virat Kohli vs Shaheen Afridi face-off.
“I think we’re all moved by the emotion of the India-Pakistan game because we have a lot of history. Pakistan have got some really fiery bowlers. I think we got a stronger batting side. I’m definitely looking at Mohammed Amir vs Rohit because he likes to get the ball full and then Shaheen Afridi against Virat," Yuvraj Singh said in a video released by ICC.
"I think these are going to be some big matchups. But at the end of the day, you have to use your mind. You have to play according to the situation and I feel the team which plays according to the situation and keeps the emotion back will definitely win this game,” he added.
Mohammad Amir has dismissed Rohit Sharma in both his T20I outings against the star opener till date. Virat Kohli and Shaheen Afridi have also played twice against each other in T20I cricket. Kohli has lost his wicket once against Afridi and scored 34 runs off 22 balls.
