IND vs SA: Fans sympathize Sanju Samson, destroy Abhishek Sharma as India openers fall cheaply

By MyKhel Staff

India has made a dismal start to the 2nd T20I against South Africa with openers departing very cheaply in Gqeberha.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bowl again. And this time their bowlers struck early against the Indian batters.

Sanju Samson departed for a duck as Marco Jansen disturbed his timbers. Samson looked unsettled from the very first delivery and then got castled in the third ball of the over. The India batter failed to continue his rich vein of form after consecutive centuries in T20Is. Samson scored 107 runs off just 50 balls in the last match in Durban.

On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma also fell cheaply. He scored a boundary to start his innings but then departed a few balls later. The southpaw also departed cheaply in the first match when he managed to score only 7 runs.

Both openers departed early for India and even after that, the batting collapse continued for India. Captain Suryakumar Yadav managed only 4 runs in 9 balls, while Tilak Varma is the latest India batter to depart for 20 runs. After eight overs, India are tottering at 45 for 4.

As the Indian team suffered a terrible batting collapse, the fans reacted on social media. They were sympathetic with Sanju Samson but went no-holds barred with Abhishek Sharma, who has found things difficult in the last few matches.

Abhishek Sharma faced huge backlash from the fans after getting out for just 7 runs. The southpaw hasn't had the best of times in India colours.

A user believes India's youngsters must be allowed to play in the overseas franchise leagues.

This fan thinks Abhishek Sharma is not yet ready to play at the highest level.
