India pacer Arshdeep Singh is enroute to continue his dominance in T20I cricket with his excellent bowling.
In the first T20I match between India and South Africa, Arshdeep continued to keep himself at the summit of a particular milestone.

India are up against South Africa in Durban and the men in blue posted a magnificent total of 202 runs. Sanju Samson was the star of the show as he amassed 107 runs in just 50 balls, thus becoming the first Indian to score consecutive T20I centuries. Along with him, Tilak Varma (33 off 18) and Suryakumar Yadav (21 off 17) two decent knocks.
Arshdeep Singh made an outstanding start with the ball for India. The left-arm pacer got the crucial wicket of South Africa captain Aiden Markram as he edged one to wicketkeeper Samson.
With the wicket, Arshdeep has now extended his lead at the top with most T20I wickets in powerplays. The India pacer has 35 T20I wickets in powerplays since 2022, which is the most by a player among the top ten countries.
Arshdeep sits on top with Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi behind him with 31 wickets. The 3rd place also belongs to a sub-continent pacer as Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi has scalped with 25 wickets.
Arshdeep will be aiming to continue his prowess in the South Africa series, especially with the IPL 2025 mega auction around the corner. The Punjab-born bowler was left out by Punjab Kings ahead of the auction and he is tipped to be one of the most demanded players in the auction.
The 25-year-old is also chasing another elusive record in the ongoing T20I series. Arshdeep, who now has 88 T20I wickets, is just 9 wickets away from catching Yuzvendra Chahal, who so far has the most T20I wickets for India.
