IND vs SA: India register Highest T20 total on Foreign Soil, break Several Records - Check Full List

India registered a mammoth total against South Africa in the final T20I match of the series on Friday (November 15).

Batting first, the Indian batters created mayhem at the Wanderers in Johannesburg to amass a record total on South African soil.

Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave India a stormy start. Although Abhishek got dismissed for 36 runs in 18 balls, Samson roared back to form after a couple of ducks in the last two matches.

Samson was joined by Tilak Varma and the duo piled on misery on the hosts. Both batters scored centuries and amassed a mammoth partnership to post a gigantic total for the visitors. This was the first time an ICC full-member team scored two centuries in a T20I innings.

Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten 120 off just 47 balls while Samson scored 109 runs off 56 deliveries as India amassed 283 runs in their full quota of overs.

Highest Total outside Home Soil: India ended up scoring 283 runs in the match. This is India's highest total outside of India. Previously, the score was 244 against West Indies in Lauderhill, USA. Suryakumar Yadav and his troops got past their previous highest with ease.

Highest Total in South Africa: India have now scored their highest T20I total against South Africa, overtaking 219 which they scored in the last match. India crossed their score of the previous match in the 16th over only.

Second Highest Total for India in T20Is: This is India's second-highest total in T20Is at any venue. The highest score by the Indian team was in 2024 as well, when they scored 297 against Bangladesh.

Most 200+ scores in a Calendar Year: With Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma scoring centuries, India have now scored most centuries in a calendar year with 7 to their name.

Most Sixes for India in a T20I Innings: In the match, India have now registered their highest tally of sixes in a T20I match with 23 maximums. Sanju Samson (9), Abhishek Sharma (4) and Tilak Varma (10) were excellent on the day and cleared the fences for fun. This is also the highest number of sixes hit in a T20I innings played between two Full Member sides.

Highest Partnership for India in T20Is: Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma have the record of the highest partnership for India in T20Is. The pair added 210 runs off just 86 deliveries. The pair overtook Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh's 190-run partnership against Afghanistan earlier this year.
