IND vs SA: Sanjay Manjrekar has made a bold statement saying that Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri - the former captain and coach duo of the Indian cricket team - would have dropped pacer Prasidh Krishna for his off-coloured outing against South Africa in the first Test.
Playing his debut Test match, Prasidh Krishna leaked as many as 93 runs in 20 overs at an economy rate of 4.7 against South Africa. Prasidh's short balls were highly ineffective and even the lower-order batters did not face much trouble against him.

Cricket-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has said that former India captain and coach - Kohli and Shastri respectively, would have dropped the Karnataka pacer for his lacklustre performance. He added that current captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid might give Prasidh Krishna another chance in South Africa.
“The earlier team management of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri would have been ruthless. Virat and Ravi would have dropped the pacer after his performance,” Manjrekar said while speaking on ESPNcricinfo.
“Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma might give him another chance,” Manjrekar added.
He further added that Shardul Thakur would continue to feature in the playing eleven of the second Test, as he gives batting depth to the Indian team which has concerns in the department.
“Shardul Thakur can bat. He plays in overseas matches as India is concerned about their batting. He will make it to the Playing XI,” Manjrekar concluded.
