World Cup 2023: South Africa batter Rassie van der Dussen has fired shots at India ahead of his side's match against the hosts at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.
Rassie van der Dussen praised the Indian team for their campaign so far in the World Cup 2023 before saying that South Africa have beaten the Men in Blue in Kolkata and subcontinent conditions before.

"Obviously, playing India in India is a massive event. They’ve been playing really well. A lot of experience in their team. They’ve got all bases covered, brilliant bowling attack and obviously the batting as well," Rassie van der Dussen said ahead of the match.
"But again, we’ll go into that game knowing that if we do the things well that we want to do, we’ll be in a really strong position. The challenge is to under pressure, to stay with that, and that’s what we’ll look to do. But we’ve played them here before and we’ve beaten them here before. So, in a sense, it’s, even though it’s a World Cup, it’s not really too much different. We won’t be looking at that too much," he further added.
Notably, South Africa have beaten India twice in their three matches against India at the Eden Gardens. South Africa have played 31 ODI matches against India in India. They have emerged victorious on 14 occasions - just three short of India.
Overall, the two teams have played 97 ODIs against each other. India have won 30 and lost 50 matches against the Proteas. In the ODI World Cups, South Africa lead the head-to-head tally 3-2.
India and South Africa are the top two teams in the World Cup 2023. India are unbeaten in the tournament, while South Africa have lost just one of their seven matches.
