India captain Suryakumar Yadav has gone to the summit of a unique record in the ongoing 2nd T20I against South Africa on Tuesday (December 12).
India are playing South Africa in Gqeberha and Suryakumar Yadav has led them from the front. After two early wickets, the India T20I captain has taken over the onus and batted with immense class.

Suryakumar dominated the Proteas bowlers with his scintillating batting and now has created a new record on South African soil. The India captain scored 56 runs off 36 balls, hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes in his terrific knock.
And with the knock, Suryakumar Yadav has overtaken MS Dhoni to become the highest-scoring Indian captain in a T20I match on South African soil. MS Dhoni's 45 against South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2007 was the best until Tuesday.
Surya also now has the joint-most 50+ score against South Africa in T20Is. The India batter has 4 50+ scores against the Proteas in only his 5th innings.
The 33-year-old's flamboyant counterattack has given India a platform to cash on in the final few overs.
