After the fantastic result in T20Is, the focus for the Indian team now shifts to the 50-over format as the ODI series against Sri Lanka starts from today (Friday, August 2).
The first match of the three-match series will be played in Colombo as team India play their first of the six ODI matches before the Champions Trophy. And for the upcoming assignment, India have their gladiators back in the side.

Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli are back in the squad as they cut short their vacation to play the series. New head coach Gautam Gambhir will have selection dilemma in his mind as a few other names are back as well.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are set to open the innings. The latter was appointed as vice-captain across limited overs formats and will be hoping to make a strong impact. Virat Kohli is surely going to bat at his traditional no. 3 position.
Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have also returned to the limited overs team for the first time since World Cup 2023. Iyer is likely to play while it will be a selection choice between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant as the wicketkeeper-batter.
Axar Patel is set to play as well as India's bowling all-rounder, while Riyan Parag can be included in the team for his added bowling prowess. Kuldeep Yadav is set to be India's solitary frontline spinner as the team may go with three seamers.
Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh are certainties in the lineup, and it might be the debut of Harshit Rana as an India player.
