India, on the other hand, are aiming to extend their lead over Sri Lanka. The two sides met in the Super Fours round of the Asia Cup 2023 as India successfully defended a 214-run target and won the match by 41 runs.

India cannot take the hosts lightly at all. In a must-win game against Pakistan on Thursday, Sri Lanka chased down a 252-run target on the last ball of the match to enter the final.
India made five changes in their dead rubber final Super Fours match against Bangladesh on Friday. They lost the match by six runs. The likes of Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are all expected to return for the summit clash.

Shreyas Iyer continues to recover from his back spams. He missed all the three matches for India in the Super Fours round. He is unlikely to feature in the final as well.

Upbeat India are expected to face a good challenge against Sri Lanka but emerge victorious in the final of Asia Cup 2023. India lost all their 10 wickets to Sri Lanka spinners in the Super Fours round. It was the first instance of Indian ODI team losing all their 10 wickets to spinners.
However, India did superbly well to defend the 214-run target to wrap Sri Lanka innings at 172 and win the match by 41 runs. The second-ranked ODI team in the world, will come better prepared to tackle the Sri Lankan threat this time. The Indian bowling unit is also in top form and the expected inclusion of off-spinner Washington Sundar is expected to bolster the attack.
Having also played under lights on Friday, India will have a fare idea of dealing with the situation if they are asked to bat second. India brought end to Sri Lanka 13-match winning streak on Friday and they will also have a psychological edge of winning each of their last four matches against Sri Lanka.
