Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav were in a jovial mood as team India players had a fun fielding session on Friday (July 26) ahead of their first engagement in the Sri Lanka series.
The Indian team will play the 1st T20I on Saturday (July 27) against the hosts in Pallekele. The three-match T20I series will be followed by 3 ODIs.

On Friday, the fielding coach T Dilip arranged an intense fielding drill which was attended by all the players. In a video shared by BCCI, the Indian stars can be seen taking part in the fielding drill. There were teams divided among the players and during that, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav were seen in all smiles and hugging each other.
India announced Suryakumar Yadav as the new T20I captain. Hardik Pandya's snub from the potential role was much debated and some even criticised Gautam Gambhir for the harsh decision. Pandya also lost his vice-captain role as it was handed to Shubman Gill. But both Pandya and Surya were in a light mood in the training, under the smiling Gautam Gambhir who was also enjoying the camaraderie.
Amid the speculations of tension in the Indian camp, the video released must have eased the nerves. Gambhir, who is making his debut as India coach, was a happy man after the high spirits in the squad.
Sanju Samson, Ravi Bishnoi and Rishabh Pant were excellent in the training session. Ravi Bishnoi hit the bulls eye with the ball in the wicket-throw competition, while Sanju Samson took an excellent diving catch.
