India rounded off their T20 assignment against Sri Lanka in a spectacular fashion. A Super Over victory ensured India's 3-0 victory over Sri Lanka in the T20I series.
Suryakumar Yadav and his troops were excellent in Pallekele, where they pulled off a heist against the hosts. With the victory, the Gautam Gambhir era has continued with a 100 per cent winning record.

After the match, the traditional best fielder medal was organized by India's fielding coach T Dilip. The fielding coach was ecstatic with the grit and resilience the players showed in the series. The surface was not the best due to intermittent rain in Pallekele, while the ground was uneven in some areas.
Dilip mentioned three contenders for the Best Fielder of the Series award - Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh and Ravi Bishnoi.
Parag was excellent throughout the series while Ravi Bishnoi also took his decent bits in the field. Rinku Singh had a tough start with a but shakiness on the field, but roared back in stellar fashion in the final match. He took an absolute blinder in the Super Over and also held on to an important catch in the regular overs. The ground fielding from all of the players was excellent across the three matches.
A video from BCCI has shown the award ceremony after the match. T Dilip demonstrated the fielding norms and mentioned the contenders. He then handed over the honours to India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate to announce the winner.
"I didn't select the award but I do know who it is. The fielding standard was very high. Fielding is the easiest way to show how much you care for the team by putting in a shift and everyone did it. The condition was very tough. The winner is the one who made a few mistakes in the second game. But he kept running harder, kept going for everything. The winner for this medal is Rinku Singh," Ten Doeschate announced.
Rinku Singh was elated after getting the award. The southpaw didn't have the best outing with bat but compensated for it brilliantly in the field. He also did wonders with the ball and bowled the penultimate over in the 3rd match getting two wickets in the over.
It was indeed a special moment for Rinku to get the award from Ryan ten Doeschate. The former Netherlands player was the fielding coach of Kolkata Knight Riders and had a huge part in Rinku's fielding prowess. The Dutchman joined as one of the coaching staff of head coach Gautam Gambhir and it was a perfect moment for both Rinku and Ten Doeschate in the India colours.
