Rohit Sharma is set to lead the Indian team in the 50-over format. The Indian stalwart retired from the T20 format is to be an integral part of the ODI plans for the foreseeable future. He was likely to miss this series, but cut short his vacation to play the series under the tutelage of Gautam Gambhir, who took the head coach duties from Rahul Dravid.

Apart from Rohit, batting stalwart Virat Kohli also reached the island country on Monday. Kohli also took retirement from the T20 format but is set to be a central part of the ODI plans. The Indian batter spent the majority of his time in London with his family after the T20 World Cup, but decided to play in the Sri Lanka series.

KL Rahul has also been included for the upcoming series in Sri Lanka. Along with them, the selectors handed a maiden ODI call-up to Harshit Rana, who starred for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024.

As per reports, members of the ODI team along with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli may undergo a training session on Monday. Team India have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the T20 series already, with the final match of the series set to be played on Tuesday.
