Sri Lanka has named their squad ahead of the three-match ODI series against India on Tuesday (July 30).
Sri Lanka selectors have named a new captain for the upcoming 50-over series, replacing Kusal Mendis as the leader. Mendis, under who the Lankans won six out of eight matches, has been axed from his role.

Charith Asalanka has been named as captain for the ODI series, which starts from August 2. Asalanka took over the T20 duties from Wanindu Hasaranga and now will be captaining the Lions in the ODIs as well.
Both Hasaranga and Mendis are in the team but will play only as a regular player. Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana are set to play a key role as the duo are included in the team. Dilshan Madushanka came in as a replacement in the T20 series but has managed to keep his place in the longer format of limited-overs cricket.
Sri Lanka won't participate in the upcoming Champions Trophy as they failed to finish in the top eight of the World Cup 2023. Charith Asalanka has led the Lankans in the past but this will be his first assignment as captain in both formats.
