India vs USA: What Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube did to try getting back form on eve of match

IND vs USA: As India gear up to face hosts USA in their third Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2024, out-of-form all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube gave it their best shot of returning to form on the eve of the match which will be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday.

Majority of the Indian cricket team players opted to stay in their hotel rooms for the optional training session. However, Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube were among the three players who turned to sweat it out at the Nassau County stadium.

Rishabh Pant, who has played handy knocks in both the matches for India so far in the T20 World Cup 2024, accompanied Jadeja and Dube. India's travelling reserves - Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh - also took the opportunity to warm-up in the middle.

Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja's form in focus

Shivam Dube has been struggling with the bat ever since being picked in India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. In his eight innings including six in IPL 2024, the 30-year-old has a highest score of 21. He has been dismissed for a duck on two occasions.

In the crucial match against Pakistan, Shivam Dube was dismissed for three off nine balls. India had lost their key batters early and were expecting Dube to deliver in the moment of crisis. In India's only practice match against Bangladesh, the right-hand batter could score 14 off 16 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja has also struggled with the bat. He has crossed the 20-run mark only twice in his last eight outings. He was dismissed for a first-ball duck against Pakistan as India were bundled out for 119 in 19 overs. The left-arm spinner has also gone six innings without taking any wicket.

India bowling coach backs Ravindra Jadeja

India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has backed Ravindra Jadeja, and said the 35-year-old is just one good outing away from roaring back to form.

"It's a long tournament. I think...someone like Jadeja, who's so vastly experienced, he just needs a game out there to just get his roots around and feel around. And we know that the skills that he has and the experience, he's going to go ahead and he's going to win your games.

"So that confidence we have in not only Jadeja but honestly with someone like Dube and others as well," India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said in the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
