It was yet another unpleasant outing for India as they suffered consecutive defeats at the hands of West Indies on Sunday (August 6) in the second T20I match of the five-match series.
India now trail 2-0 in the series and it was an enthralling match which saw West Indies prevail by 2 wickets. Chasing 153, Windies rode on Nicholas Pooran's brilliance and were comfortably cruising. Pooran's dismissal create a mini-collapse where they lost four wickets in just two runs.

But tail-enders Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph stood tall to steer the Caribbean ship home and dry. In contrast, India failed to snap up their chance and captain Hardik Pandya was not amused at the post-match presentation.
Pandya was asked about the batting performance and he was visibly not happy with the way India batted. Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson all departed cheaply and Pandya tore apart the batters without taking any names.
"If am being honest that was not a pleasing batting performance, we could have batted better. 160+ or 170 would have been a good total and we were short. With the current combination we have we will have to trust our top 7 batters to come good and hope the bowlers win you games," Pandya said at the post-match presentation.
The India captain also heaped praises on Nicholas Pooran who played a blistering knock to counterattack India. The hosts were 2/2 and Pooran's blitzkrieg dismantled the Indian leash.
"The way he has been batting, becomes very difficult to rotate spinners. 2/2 and the way he batted, took the game quite into their hands," he said.
"We have to find ways to make sure we have the right balance but at the same time batters need to take more responsibility," the Indian captain further added.
Hardik Pandya played his part in the match though as the Indian captain fared well with both bat and ball. He scored 24 off 18 balls with the bat, and then picked up three wickets while rolling his arms.
The visitors are now on the cusp of a series defeat and will be up against West Indies again on Tuesday in the third T2OI at the same venue. It will be a must-win match for India as a defeat will mean a series loss for the first time after 12 bilateral series.
