IND vs WI: Fans miss Dhoni, call Hardik Pandya 'Chapri captain' - This is what happened

Hardik Pandya was slammed and criticised by fans for 'denying' young Tilak Varma an opportunity to complete his second T20I fifty during the third T20I against West Indies in Guyana on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old was left stranded on 49 off 37 balls as Hardik finished the match with a six on the fifth ball of the 18th over. Even though India won the match by seven wickets and 13 balls remaining to keep the 5-match series alive, fans heavily criticised India's T20I captain.

Notably, Tilak Varma has become a fan favourite after his stellar debut in the ongoing series. He scored 39 off 22 in his first outing before hitting his maiden fifty in the second T20I. The knock in the second innings helped him become the second-youngest India batter to hit a T20I fifty. Varma's Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma is the youngest Indian to hit a fifty in the shortest format of the game.

The Hyderabad batter is also only the second Indian batter after Suryakumar Yadav to register three consecutive 30-plus scores in the first three T20I innings of his career. He is only behind Deepak Hooda, the list of Indian batters with most T20I runs after three innings. He is tied with Suryakumar on 139 runs.

The fans were waiting for the southpaw's second fifty when Hardik launched one over long-off. The 'selfish act' from Hardik has left the fans fuming. Check out a few reactions.
