Team India's Adidas Test jersey violated ICC code? Check what rule book says

The Indian cricket team are currently cruising in the first Test against West Indies in Dominica.

Rohit Sharma and his troops are sailing at Windsor Park and are overwhelming favourites to win the match by a huge margin. The hosts are 222 runs behind in the second innings and have lost 4 wickets already.

Despite India's on-field domination, there is an off-field issue for the visitors. The Indian jersey is apparently violating the ICC clothing regulations for the World Test Championship and may need a prompt solution.

How Team India's new jersey violates ICC Rule?

The Indian team are currently wearing Adidas-manufactured kits as the renowned brand took over the reins earlier this year. But it is reported that the Indian jersey has violated ICC's clothing rules and regulations.

ICC has clear guidelines for how the jerseys of all the teams should be as it clearly demarcates the colours, structure and commercial branding guidelines.

But it seems the Indian team jersey from Adidas has flouted the piping guidelines.

"Playing shirts shall be plain white/cream, save that coloured piping or trim shall be permitted subject to the following restrictions: Piping is restricted to 0.5 cm (0.2 in) in width," the ICC rule says.

And in the Indian jersey that they are wearing against West Indies, the piping clearly is bigger than the maximum recommended limit. The three Adidas stripes extending from the collars are thicker than the limit and thus violate ICC regulations.

It is to be seen if ICC orders the Indian team to change the appearance of their kit, which may warrant a complete set of new kits for Team India.
