The India cricket team were left fuming ahead of their first ODI against West Indies on Thursday, July 27, after their late night flight from Trinidad to Barbados got delayed by over four hours.
After the completion of the second Test at Windsor Park in Port of Spain, Team India players were reportedly scheduled to board a flight at 11:00 PM on the same day. The players left the hotel by 8:40 PM but had to endure a long wait at the airport as the flight got delayed by four hours.

The Indian cricket team has written to the BCCI for better planning when travelling to the next venues. They have suggested morning flights to be arranged instead of late-night flights which disallows the players from resting after a long day at the field.
“They had left the hotel by 8:40 pm for the airport and had to wait for a long time at the airport. The team management has requested us to book a morning flight instead of late-night flights as players want some rest post-game. The BCCI has agreed to it and is planning to revise the next schedule,” a BCCI source told The Indian Express.
After the delay the Indian team reached Barbados at 5:00 AM in the morning. The reports also suggested that senior players requested a day off from practice in Barbados due to the delay. The team will travel back to Trinidad for the third ODI and first T20I. The second and third T20Is are scheduled to be held in Guyana. Florida in the USA will host the fourth and the fifth T20I games.
