IND vs WI: Yashasvi Jaiswal on Thursday scripted history by slamming a 215-ball hundred in his debut Test match for India at the Windsor Park in Dominica. On Day 2 of the ongoing first Test between India and West Indies, Jaiswal reached the three-figure mark in the second session after lunch.
The 21-year-old smashed six cracking boundaries on Day 1 and went unbeaten at an overnight score of 40 off 73 balls. On Thursday, the youngster, who is playing his first match for India in any format, showcased a different side of his batting.

The southpaw showed immense patience and reflected mental strength beyond his age and experience to hit just one boundary in the first session of Day 2. At the stroke of lunch, the Mumbai batter was unbeaten on 62 off 167 balls.
He changed gears after lunch and hit four more boundaries before reaching his hundred. On the first ball of the 70th over from spinner Alick Athanaze, Jaiswal swept a delivery behind square, ran a single, removed his helmet and kept on sprinting before leaping in the air and roaring in delight.
Jaiswal acknowledged the appreciation from the dressing room which was on its feet. He then ran back towards his captain for a warm hug.
The batting sensation, who once used to sell 'panipuri' for survival in Mumbai, is now the fourth youngest India batter to score a hundred on debut. Prithvi Shaw is the youngest at 18 years and 329 days, followed by Abbas Ali Baig (20 years and 126 days), and Gundappa Viswanath (20 years and 276 days). Jaiswal slammed his debut Test hundred at the age of 21 years and 196 days.
Jaiswal is also the third India opener after Shaw (2018) and Shikhar Dhawan (2013) to hit a hundred on debut. He is also the third batter after Shaw and Rohit Sharma to score a hundred in Test debut against West Indies.
Jaiswal's opening partner Rohit Sharma also brought up his 10th hundred in the match. The duo partnered for 229 runs - the highest-ever partnership by an Indian opening pair against West Indies.
