IND vs ZIM: The Indian cricket team led by Shubman Gill left for Zimbabwe in the wee hours of Tuesday (July 2) for a five-match T20I series starting July 6 in Harare.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a series of pictures to share the news to the fans. "Jet Set Zimbabwe," BCCI captioned the pictures of acting coach and NCA head VVS Laxman, Abhishek Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja have retired, and other senior members of the team like Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Japsrit Bumrah have been rested as Shubman Gill gear up to lead a young Indian team in Zimbabwe.
The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and Tushar Deshpande are well on course to make their T20I debut for India. Nitish Reddy was also in the squad but got ruled out due to injury. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube are the only three players from the T20 World Cup 2024 squad to feature in the 15-member squad.
Gill, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed and Rinku were the four travelling reserves for India in the T20 World Cup 2024. Each one of these players will be featuring in the T20I series against Sikandar Raza-led Zimbabwe.

Experienced batter Sikandar Raza was on Monday named as captain of a young Zimbabwe. The African side has also named Belgium-born Antum Naqvi in the squad but his final inclusion is subject to the confirmation of his citizenship status, Zimbabwe Cricket said in a release.
Naqvi was born to Pakistani parents in Brussels, Belgium, before moving to Australia, but he was considered for selection after he declared his desire to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket and applied for naturalisation.
