IND-W vs BAN-W 3rd T20I: Shafali Verma, Bowlers Script Series win for India

Shafali Verma dazzled with bat, while Bowlers pulled off a combined effort as India Women secured a victory by 7 wickets over Bangladesh Women in the 3rd T20I on Thursday (May 2).

India women's cricket team is touring Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series. After the win in the 3rd match, team India now has an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series.

IND vs BAN 3rd T20I - As it Happened

India women's captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the Toss and chose to Bowl at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh made a good start as Dilara Akter took on the bowling in the powerlay. Along with Murshida Khatun, the Tigresses added 46 runs for first wicket but a run out of Murshida and then Renuka Singh dismissing Dilara Akter changed the match completely.

Bangladesh kept on losing wickets and failed to score runs quickly after that. Captain Nigar Sultana (28 off 36), Sobhana Mostary (15 off 20) scored runs but it was more of a slow jog for them as Indian spinners tightened the screw big time.

Radha Yadav picked up two wickets (2/22 in 4 overs), while Shreyanka Patil (1/24), Pooja Vastrakar (1/26) and Renuka Singh (1/25) got one wicket each. There were also three Run Outs in the Bangladesh innings as they could only manage 117 for 8 at the end of their full 20 overs.

India started strongly in the chase. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma dismantled the hosts to give the visitors a perfect start. The pair continued their onslaught and Verma went on to score a half-century. The dashing Shafali Verma had to depart after scoring 51 off just 38 balls, while Smriti Mandhana also got dismissed after scoring 47 runs.

Dayalan Hemalatha also got dismissed cheaply but Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh took India home with an over to spare as India won by 7 wickets to secure the series triumph.
