IND-W vs SA-W: Openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana registered their names in the records book after stitching the highest-ever partnership for India Women in Test cricket.
On Day 1 of the only Test match between India Women and South Africa Women, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma recorded the highest partnership for India Women in Test cricket.

The opening stand between Mandhana and Shafali accounted for 292 balls off just 312 balls. While 20-year-old Shafali Verma chipped in with 141 off 151 balls, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana contributed 149 runs off 161 in the record partnership.
Mandhana was dismissed one run short of her first 150 or plus score in Test cricket. The innings from the left-hand batter consisted of 27 fours and a six. Mandhana scored back-to-back hundreds in the preceding ODI series, and was dismissed for 90 in the third and last match of the series which India Women won by a 3-0 margin.
On the other hand, Haryana-born Smriti Mandhana slammed her maiden Test ton. At the time this article was published she had already smashed 20 fours and six sixes. The right-hand batter was just 30 runs short of a double hundred.
