IND-W vs SA-W: Brilliant fifties by Tazmin Brits and Marizanne Kapp, along with an impressive bowling display, led South Africa to their first win on the current tour, securing a 12-run victory against India in the opening women's T20I on Friday.
Opting to bat first, South Africa's strong batting performance, aided by India's subpar fielding, resulted in a formidable total of 189 for four. Brits (81 off 56 balls) and Kapp (57 off 33 balls) were instrumental in building the innings.

In response, India's openers made a promising start with Shafali Verma (18 off 14 balls) and Smriti Mandhana (46 off 30 balls) sharing a 56-run stand in 32 balls. However, Verma fell in the sixth over to Ayabonga Khaka.
Dayalan Hemalatha (14 off 17 balls) then partnered with Mandhana, contributing to a 31-run partnership.
The South African bowlers maintained pressure, picking up crucial wickets at regular intervals.
Mandhana was dismissed by Chloe Tryon in the 10th over, followed by Hemalatha, bowled by Nadine de Klerk in the next over, leaving India at 87 for three.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues then took an aggressive approach to keep up with the rising required run-rate.
The pair added a 50-run partnership in 38 deliveries, narrowing the chase to 47 runs needed from 18 balls.
Rodrigues continued her aggressive batting, reaching her 11th T20I fifty in 29 balls, with India needing 21 from the last six deliveries.
However, Nonkululeko Mlaba held her nerve, conceding only eight runs in the final over to secure South Africa's victory.
South Africa's four different bowlers took crucial wickets, with de Klerk's economical spell being key to their success.
There were injury concerns, as Richa Ghosh was replaced by S Sajana due to a concussion after Ghosh fell attempting a catch. Brits also had to be stretchered off due to severe cramps. Earlier, Brits and Kapp helped South Africa post their highest T20I total against India.
Brits, scoring 81 from 56 balls with 10 fours and three sixes, and captain Laura Wolvaardt (33) gave a cautious start, reaching 50 in 43 balls.
India missed several catching opportunities, dropping Wolvaardt and Kapp in the 4th and 10th overs, and Brits in the 16th over.
The lack of pitch bounce allowed Kapp and Brits to effectively use sweep shots.
For India, Pooja and Radha each claimed two wickets, with Pooja also being economical.
