By MyKhel Staff

India A vs Australia A: India A seized control on Day 2 of their unofficial Test against Australia A, ending the day at 208/2 and extending their lead to 120 runs. The day's play was marked by exceptional performances from captain Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, and pace bowler Mukesh Kumar.

Mukesh Kumar set the tone early in the day, dismantling Australia A's batting lineup with a splendid 6-wicket haul for 46 runs. His relentless accuracy proved too much for the Australian batsmen, with Prasidh Krishna also contributing three wickets to limit Australia A to 195 runs, an 88-run lead.

Mukesh's efforts, particularly during the morning session, underlined his class and control, and his contribution gave India A the upper hand going into the second innings. In response, India A's chase began shakily, losing both openers early. However, the third-wicket partnership between Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal transformed the innings.

The duo combined technical finesse with aggressive shot selection, displaying brilliant synergy and stability at the crease. Sudharsan, in particular, dominated proceedings with fluent stroke play and well-timed boundaries, reaching an unbeaten 96 by the day's close. His composure in the 90s and ability to rotate the strike kept Australia A's bowlers on the back foot.

Padikkal, meanwhile, matched his captain's tempo, scoring an elegant 80 not out. His ability to convert pressure into scoring opportunities through well-placed drives and quick singles was vital. The pair's unbeaten 178-run partnership not only erased the deficit but also created a substantial lead for India A. Both left-handers displayed excellent footwork against spin and pace, making Australia A's bowlers toil for every breakthrough attempt.

As Day 3 approaches, India A sits in a commanding position, thanks to Sudharsan and Padikkal's partnership, which has set up the team to build an imposing lead. Australia A will need a strong comeback with the ball to prevent India from capitalizing further, while India A aims to cement their dominance and set up a challenging target.
