'That's why I gifted': Star India player reveals why he gifted Barbados youngsters

The Indian cricket team is currently practising ahead of the start of the Test series against West Indies. The visitors are set to play 2 Tests which starts on July 12 in Dominica.

Before the Test series starts, the Indian team have been sweating it out at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. The entire squad is in practice and are gearing up for the red ball series.

And during the practice sessions, team India was seen interacting with local players and had a good time with them. The local Barbados cricketers have been helping the Indian team in practice and the visitors gave them a nice gesture.

In a video shared by BCCI, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was seen gifting cricket bats, shoes to young Barbados players. Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane were also seen discussing and providing tips to those budding cricketers.

Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill were seen giving autographs as it was a surprising yet memorable gesture for those Caribbean youngsters.

Mohammed Siraj has recently revealed why Team India showed that kind of gesture to those youngsters, especially why he gave away his bat and other apparel to them.

"They were making us practice in last 2-3 days, they helped us a lot whether fetching the ball from outside and bowling us in nets. That's why I gifted bat, shoes," Siraj was quoted as saying.

The Indian pacer will be hoping to strike bulls eye against West Indies in the upcoming Test series. India had a dismal outing in the WTC 2023 Final and the onus will be on the team to resurrect their form in the longest format of the game.

The Indian side also had a chat with West Indies and cricket legend Sir Garfield Sobers recently.

They will be playing 2 Tests, followed by 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is in this tour.
