IPL 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal always was an acknowledged special talent, however, his rich vein of form in the ongoing IPL 2023 has made him one of the hottest property in Indian cricket.
The 21-year-old scored a 13-ball fifty on Thursday - the fastest in the history of the IPL. He went on to score 98 unbeaten runs off just 47 balls as Rajasthan Royals (RR) chased down a 150-run target in just 13.1 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Jaiswal's exploits across formats has created a major buzz and the stalwarts of the game want him to be fast-tracked to the Indian cricket team. A few of them want him to feature in the India squad for the 2023 World Cup as well.
From the reactions of the cricket fraternity and administrators, it looks like the day is not far for Jaiswal would walk out to play in the India blue. Check out of the top reactions below.
"A special knock by young @ybj_19 for hitting the fastest IPL fifty. He has shown tremendous grit and passion towards his game. Congratulations on achieving history. May you continue this fine form in future. #TATAIPL2023," BCCI secretary Jay Shah has tweeted.
“If I was the Indian selector, I would have signed him today itself for the World Cup because he is in a very fresh mind. He reminds me of Virender Sehwag. I'm sure Rohit Sharma will be watching this because he will be searching for batters like him for the World Cup,” Suresh Raina told Star Sports.
“Get him in the Indian team now @BCCI! Yashasvi Jaiswal," tweeted Brett Lee.
“Yashasvi will be wearing the Indian Blue Jersey in the next 3 months. There’s no doubt about it. And it’s not just because of his stellar IPL form…he’s been absolutely brilliant in the domestic circuit for a few years now. Special talent," tweeted Aakash Chopra.
"Yashasvi Jaiswal is my favourite Indian young batter! Looking forward to see you in India colours soon," Lasith Malinga tweeted.
"This kid is special. Thoroughly enjoyed his clean striking," Virender Sehwag tweeted.
“Yashasvi Jaiswal isn’t just knocking at the doors of the Indian Cricket Team, he seems to be breaking it with his consistently good performances,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
“If Team India is focusing on ODI World Cup, selectors should look to give as many opportunities to the youngsters like Yashasvi and Rinku,” said Ravi Shastri on Star Sports.
Former India captain Virat Kohli also came up with an Instagram Story for the Mumbai batter and wrote, "Wow this is some of the best batting I have seen in a while. What a talent."
Earlier after the hundred against MI, Rohit Sharma had said that Jaiswal's form and growth was good for him, RR and the Indian cricket. Those words coming from the captain of the Indian cricket team himself were massive.
“I was just asking him, 'Where is that power coming from’. Because last year I did not see so many sixes. He was timing it so nicely. He said he’s been spending a lot of time in the gym which is good because he has got a lot of talent and the kind of domestic season he has had, he has taken that form into the IPL. I wish that he continues that form. It’s good for him, for Indian cricket and obviously good for RR," Rohit had said.
