Bengaluru, April 11: The Indian men's cricket team is reportedly set to host Afghanistan cricket team for a short tour after the World Test Championship Final in June.
According to a report by TOI, Afghanistan will visit India for a short tour before the Men in Blue jet to the Caribbean for an all-format tour. The details on the format and number of matches is not clear as it stands. But the two boards may announce the same soon.

"Yes, the Afghanistan cricket team will undertake a short tour to India during June, after the World Test Championship final (at the Oval in London from June 7-11)," a BCCI source told TOI.
India, who will play their next international fixture after the IPL 2023 in June, is also set to face West Indies in two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is in the month of July.
Before the reported Afghan visit and tour to West Indies, Rohit Sharma's side will face Australia in the World Test Championship final 2023 at the Kennington Oval in London, from June 6 to June 11.
Although the Afghans have used venues in India for some of their home matches, this will be Afghanistan's second tour to India to face the Men in Blue. In their last tour in 2018, they faced India in a one-off Test, which ended in favour of the hosts by an innings and 262 runs.
If the tour is confirmed, it will come as a major boost to Afghanistan Cricket as it signals BCCI's support for cricket in the country even after the takeover of Taliban in August 2021.
As it stands, the players of the Indian team and some members of the Afghanistan team like Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Fazalhaq Farooqi are involved for their respective franchises in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
