The International Cricket Council (ICC) held its Annual Conference in Singapore, where the decision has now been taken for a major ICC event.
The annual conference has come to the conclusion that the upcoming finals of the World Test Championship will be held in England, as has been the case since its start.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has been awarded the prestigious honor of hosting the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Finals for three consecutive editions- 2027, 2029, and 2031. This marks a significant endorsement by ICC, which ensures the first six editions of the final being hosted at the same country.
England, often regarded as the birthplace of cricket, has consistently served as a fitting stage for the crescendo of Test cricket. Previous finals, notably at Lord's Cricket Ground, have captured the imagination of fans worldwide, blending tradition with modern sports spectacle.
The World Test Championship encompasses a two-year league cycle featuring the top nine Test nations. Each team competes in three home and three away series, accumulating points in every match. The pursuit of every run, wicket, and Test victory feeds into a points table, at the end of which the top two teams earn the right to play in the Final.
The WTC Final, a single-matched decider, is directly organized by the ICC and stands as the ultimate contest in the longest format of the game. The WTC final was first played in 2021 at Lord's, followed by the 2023 and 2025 editions, which were also played in London.
India have been vocal about getting the hosting rights for one of the WTC Finals, but that has been rebuffed with disappointment. Despite the cricket craze in the nation and availability of a plethora of world-class stadiums, BCCI has been denied a chance so far, which has now elongated till 2031.
