Bengaluru, Oct 27: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is generally termed incisive with the ball in short spells. That might be the reason he is often wanted by the selectors as well as Indian skippers in international matches.

But the Bengal pacer now seems to be trying to shift from the tag levelled on him so far. He is trying to bring in the ability to develop same sharpness in his bowling even in the long spells. And he is aiming to deliver in India's forthcoming Test series against England.
The bowler, while speaking on his effort, said, “I have been undergoing heavy weight training, especially the training on muscles. It helps gain endurance and you must need to have it so that you do not get tired bowling long spells. My aim is to get ready before the series against England. And if captain wants me to deliver on the long term basis I will be ready."

The 27-year old fast bowler also informed he is spending fun time at the NCA along with three other Indian cricketers - Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Shami said, "All of them have been very friendly and we are spending funny time as well, along with the training."
Shami also had a lot of praise for the Bengal team that defeated Yuvraj Singh-led Punjab in its last match in the Ranji Trophy.
He said, “Bengal has made a fine start in the Ranji Trophy this season. I will not be surprised even if Bengal wins the championship this season."
