Amid talks of stricter guidelines for players, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have reportedly barred Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir's personal assistant from travelling with the team.
Gaurav Arora, the PA of Gambhir, was alleged to have gained accesss to areas meant only for team officials, selectors, and players. Gambhir's PA was reportedly in a car specified for the national selectors and also got access to BCCI's hospitality box in Adelaide.

Apart from that, Gaurav had also gained access to the breakfast area designated only for the players and the support staff. Now, a report from CricBlogger suggests, BCCI have finally cracked the whip by banning Gambhir's PA from travelling with the team after section of the Indian team complained about his presence in restricted areas.
"In response, the BCCI has barred Gambhir's PA from staying in the same hotel as the Indian team, accessing VIP boxes in stadiums, and using the team bus. He can't travel with the team," a source was quoted as saying on CricBlogger.
The report also added that the board almost allowed Gaurav's appointment to be with Gambhir for all Indian matches, but protest from other office bearers put the brakes on the the move, leaving the head coach angry.
The BCCI had introduced a set of guidelines to for the travel of personal staff and family members during tours. The new guidelines limited the duration of family members accompanying players on tours. Plus, all players are now required to travel with the team, prohibiting separate travel arrangements for practice and match.
The BCCI was miffed with how Gamhir's PA shadowed the team when on tour Down Under for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. An earlier report stated BCCI's anger at the presence of Gaurav in a selectors car.
"Why was his PA sitting in the car specified for national selectors? They can't even discuss things in private with an unknown third person in the car. Why was he allotted space in the BCCI's hospitality box in Adelaide? How did he have breakfast in the cordoned-off area of a five-star facility that is just earmarked for the team members?" a BCCI source had told PTI earlier.
