India Hong Kong Sixes 2026 Squad: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Lead; RCB, KKR players to Feature in Strong Team

Team India will bring a strong IPL presence to the Hong Kong Sixes 2026, with seven experienced cricketers set to feature in the six-a-side tournament from October 30 to November 1.

Veteran India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will captain the Indian side, which also includes IPL regulars in it.

India Squad for Hong Kong Sixes 2026

- Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Captain) - Royal Challengers Bengaluru
- Krunal Pandya - Royal Challengers Bengaluru
- Shashank Singh - Punjab Kings
- Rahul Tewatia - Gujarat Titans
- Nitish Rana - Delhi Capitals
- Rahul Tripathi - Kolkata Knight Riders
- T. Natarajan - Delhi Capitals

IPL experience meets the six-a-side format

The Hong Kong Sixes is a unique format where every player has to make an immediate impact. With just six players on the field, there is little time for batters or bowlers to settle, resulting in an attacking and high-scoring brand of cricket. India's squad has plenty of players suited to those demands. Bhuvneshwar brings considerable international and IPL experience and can provide an early breakthrough with the ball.

Krunal offers all-round versatility, while Nitish Rana provides aggressive batting and experience in the top order. Shashank Singh and Rahul Tewatia are both capable of producing quick runs in the middle and lower order, while Rahul Tripathi's attacking approach could prove valuable in the condensed format. T. Natarajan, meanwhile, adds a left-arm pace option to the squad and gives India another specialist bowling weapon.

Cricket Hong Kong, China Director of Marketing and Commercial Anuraag Bhatnagar said the Indian squad could provide a major boost to the tournament's profile.

"We are very grateful to the Indian cricket authorities for their support in helping us put together arguably one of the strongest sides that has represented India in the history of the Sixes. This will surely prove to be a quantum leap forward in terms of viewership and further validation for this iconic tournament," Bhatnagar said.

India eye better run after 2025 campaign

India will return to the Hong Kong Sixes with unfinished business after their 2025 campaign ended before the knockout stages.
The Indian side began last year's tournament with a two-run DLS victory over Pakistan, but subsequently suffered defeats that brought their campaign to an early end.

The 2026 tournament will feature eight major cricketing nations and four Associate Members, with three days of attacking six-a-side cricket scheduled at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.
