The Indian Women Cricket Team will begin their Women's ODI World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka, as the ICC has announced the schedule for the upcoming tournament.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 30 to November 2, with matches spread across five venues in India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will feature eight teams: India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

The selected venues for the marquee event are the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The World Cup will kick off with a high-profile encounter involving hosts India at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on September 30, marking the tournament's return to Indian soil after a 12-year gap.
India take on Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on the opening day of the tournament, followed by matches against the other teams. As the tournament is following a round robin format, Harmanpreet Kaur and co. will play against all the other teams.
The flagship encounter against the Pakistan women team is on October 5, and it will be played in Colombo as BCCI and PCB agreed to the hybrid format of the tournament. The Indian team will face South Africa and Australia in Vizag, while they shall play England and New Zealand in Indore and Guwahati, respectively. The final group stage encounter is on October 26 against Bangladesh in Bengaluru.

One of the semifinals will take place in Bengaluru while the other one will be at Guwahati or Colombo, the latter if Pakistan advance to the semis. The same goes for the Final on November 2, which will switch between Bengaluru or Colombo depending on Pakistan's appearance.
