India look to clinch Test series tomorrow
Coimbatore, Aug 11 (UNI) India will look to clinch the four-match Test series in front of the home crowd again as traditional rivals India and Pakistan square off in the fourth Volleyball Test here tomorrow.
Having taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series with a virtually nonchalant display at Chennai yesterday, Sridharan sounded optimistic of yet another good showing from his young team and expressed confidence of wrapping up the series in his home town, which would be hosting an International Volleyball match for the first time.
Being the golden jubilee year of the Coimbatore District Volleyball Association (CDVA), which is organising this Test match, Sridhar was keen that his wards deliver the goods.
Pakistan, on the other hand, would be keen to draw level and move to Hyderabad in a better frame of mind for the fifth and final test.
Stressing that there was more scope for improvement, Sridharan, however, said his boys would not rest on the past laurels and would come out with all guns blazing. ''There will be no experimentation.
We have come here to win and we will win'', he asserted.
''We will go all out to win the series here Sridhar told UNI at the Coimbatore Railway Station, as the teams arrived to a traditional Tamil Reception by CDVA President R Govindarajulu and Secretary M Venkatapathy and other officials.
''We have to play well to win tomorrow. Though the attack is good, we have to strengthen the blocks, which is a cause for concern'', he said, adding that a series win here would augur well in preparing for the Asian Grand Prix to be held in Jakarta next month.
The Indians were on a high after the victory in the Central Asian Championship in Pakistan and the silver medal finish in the Commonwealth Championship in Kolkata last month.
Ruling out any change in the strategy, Sridharan said the boys would continue to play the attacking game. ''We have to tighten up the blocks at the net. I am confident that the boys will rise up to the occasion'', he added.
