Indian cricket team has set a new record by winning the most T20 International matches. This notable achievement was made possible following their triumphant victory against Australia in Raipur on Friday.
The Men in Blue has now successfully overtaken arch-rivals Pakistan, in terms of total T20I victories. With this win, India now boasts 136 victories in the T20I format, while Pakistan holds 135 wins.

What makes this achievement even more commendable is that India reached this milestone having played 13 fewer matches compared to Pakistan. India's record stands at 136 wins in 213 matches, while Pakistan has registered 135 wins in 226 matches. This accomplishment is a testament to the consistent performance and indomitable spirit of the Indian cricket team.
The T20I victories tally of other top cricketing nations also provide an interesting perspective. New Zealand, with 102 victories in 200 matches, occupies the third spot. They are followed by Australia and South Africa, both achieving 95 wins; however, Australia has played 181 matches compared to South Africa's 171.
England is not far behind with 92 wins in 177 matches. Despite having played more matches, Sri Lanka and West Indies have fewer victories with 79 and 76 wins in 180 and 184 matches respectively. Afghanistan, despite playing fewer matches, has made commendable progress with 74 wins in only 118 matches. Ireland concludes the list with 64 victories in 154 games.
The recent win and subsequent record set by India underscores the team's dominance in the T20I format. The Indian team with their rich conveyor belt of talent will be hoping to clinch their second T20 World Cup title next year.
India not only have the most wins, but they have the best win percentage among the top 10 teams. The second-best win percentage is for Afghanistan, who will have the onus to continue their fine record against the big boys.
Two-time World Cup winners West Indies only have a 41.3 % win rate, the lowest among the top ten teams with most T20I wins.
