Team India will be playing in their fourth ODI World Cup final when they face record champions Australia in the title clash of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19).
Rohit Sharma's side made it 10 wins in 10 by beating New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-final to clinch the final berth as the unbeaten side. India went the entire league phase unbeaten to break their previous record of 8 wins in single ODI World Cup.

Now, the Men in Blue will have a chance to match the feat of their opponents of winning the World Cup undefeated. They were the first team to book the semi-final berth in this edition and are also firm favourites to win the title for the third time, ending a twelve year wait.
The Men in Blue opened their campaign with a comprehensive win over the record champions Australia, and haven't taken their foot of the gas since then, beating all the other eight sides to reach the last four. And then saw off the Kiwi challenge to reach the title clash.
Team India have shown no weakness so far, winning five matches when chasing at the start of the tournament, and then winning the next five, including the semi-final by defending a total. Here is how they got to the final:

India, who are one of the founding members of the Cricket World Cup, have reached the final of the show-piece tournament 4 times in 13 attempts. This will be their first appearance in the summit clash since 2011, having lost the semi-final in the 2015 and 2019 editions.
The 1983 and 2011 champions have missed out on qualifying for the final in nine editions. While they made a group stage exit in 1975, 1979, 1992 and 2007, Team India reached as far as the super six stage in 1999 and semi-final stage in 1987, 1996, 2015 and 2019.
In the three previous ODI World Cup finals, India has a record of 2-1 as two of their three final appearances ended in title triumphs. With 2 wins in finals, India are the second best team along with West Indies. Here is a look at India's performance in World Cup finals:
| Edition | Opponent | Venue | Result |
| 1983 | West Indies | Lord’s, London | India won by 43 runs |
| 2003 | Australia | Wanderers, Johannesburg | India lost by 125 runs |
| 2011 | Sri Lanka | Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai | India won by 6 wickets |
Having lost once to Australia in the finals, Rohit and co will look to set that right and lift India's third ODI World Cup title, the first since 2011, when they face Pat Cummins' side, who edged South Africa in a thriller to seal their eighth final appearance.
