High security wraps up Mohali ahead of Indo-Pak semi-final

Mohali, Mar 27: India and Pakistan are now experiencing the cricket world cup fever ahead of the semi-final when the two nation will confront each other for the first time this world cup. But considering the security issue, Indian officials wrapped up the venue of the match, Mohali with forces and police officials.

Sources reported that around 3,000 police will patrol the high-profile India-Pakistan World Cup semi final on Wednesday, Mar 30. An estimated 1,000 police have already descended on the luxury Hotel Taj in nearby Chandigarh where both teams are staying.

A high alert has been declared at all airports across India on grounds of terror threat. Recently, Pakistan police acting on hints from the Interpol, arrested a man plotting to attack the World Cup venues.

Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik, had confirmed that the terror outfit, Taliban is now active in India and a massive terror attack may soon assail to mar the world cup fever.

The semi-final has received a new political angle when Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has accepted the invitation sent by Manmohan Singh to watch the semi-final together.
