The India-Pakistan match in the Women's T20 World Cup on 6 October set a new attendance record for a group stage match, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India triumphed over Pakistan by six wickets, with 15,935 spectators present.

The ICC reported that the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 attracted a total of 91,030 fans. This figure represents a substantial 30% increase from the previous tournament. Such numbers underscore the sport's rising appeal and the increasing interest in women's cricket globally.
In addition to the group stages, the semi-finals also saw strong attendance. A total of 69,573 fans attended these matches, marking a 21% rise compared to the last edition. This growth highlights the expanding global interest in women's cricket.
The final match between New Zealand and South Africa at the Dubai International Stadium drew 21,457 spectators. This turnout was an impressive 68% increase from the previous final held in South Africa. The ICC noted this as a significant indicator of growing support for women's cricket.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice commented on this trend, stating, "Women's cricket is reaching new heights, and the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE is a shining example of the sport's expanding impact." His remarks reflect the potential for hosting elite women's sports events in this region.
The ICC emphasised that these attendance figures are an exciting sign of increasing interest among diverse audiences. The organisation views this as a positive development for women's cricket and its future growth worldwide.
