The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a massive cash reward of ₹131 crore for Team India after their historic victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
India sealed the title with a commanding 96-run win over New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, successfully defending their crown and scripting multiple records in the process.

The announcement was confirmed by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, who congratulated the players, support staff and selectors for their role in India's landmark triumph.
"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of INR 131 crore for Team India following their triumphant campaign in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026," Saikia said.
The latest reward marks an increase from the ₹125 crore bonus announced after India's previous T20 World Cup triumph in 2024 under Rohit Sharma's leadership.
The ₹131 crore payout will be shared among the players, coaching staff, support personnel and members of the selection committee who contributed to India's successful campaign.
India's victory in Ahmedabad was historic on several fronts.
The Men in Blue became the first team to successfully defend the ICC Men's T20 World Cup title and also the first side to win the tournament three times, having previously lifted the trophy in 2007 and 2024.
India dominated the final from the outset, posting a massive 255/5 after explosive batting performances from the top order.
Sanju Samson led the charge with a blistering 89, while Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan also produced rapid half-centuries to push India to one of the highest totals in a T20 World Cup final.
Apart from the BCCI reward, India also received prize money from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The champions earned USD 2.34 million (approximately ₹21.5 crore), while runners-up New Zealand received USD 1.17 million (around ₹10.75 crore).
India's dominant campaign and record-breaking triumph have now been followed by one of the largest financial rewards in the history of Indian cricket, further underlining the magnitude of the achievement.
